Best Guitar Hero to come along in awhile.
Now that that's out of the way I can talk about how this game takes what it has done best and vastly improves on it's weak points in previous games. First off, the visuals are AMAZING. I was very surprised at how good this game looks, the characters look less cartoony and more realistic as they move around onstage while also flowing very well together and avoiding that robotic movement thing they had going on in previous games. The menus, song selection screens, and everything are a breath of fresh air and everything just looks better overall.
Career mode is VERY long and the new Gold, Platinum, and Diamond challenges add some fun new reasons to play through the career.
GHStudio 2.0 is an improved version of the last one, not much to say there until we see what people can create and upload to GHTunes. The new Rockfest modes allow people to go head-to-head in new fun ways, but the most important new feature that I loved was Party Play mode.
It is just such a nice innovation, you literally just pop in the disc and without having to go through ANY menus it starts playing through all the songs like a jukebox and you can join in with the touch of a button. It really is a nice new feature that lets you get right to the playing without having to go through the hassle of setting up your band members every time because it takes your characters and puts them in there automatically.
One last thing I'd like to add is the ability to transfer songs from GH:WT and GH:SH, this adds some of the best songs from those games to your GH5 set list and while it is missing some hopefully Neversoft will bring more in the future. The huge song list you can get from doing this makes GH5 a much better experience.
Hopefully Neversoft will take the hint and just let this great game be the last one for a long while and just constantly add DLC because then this game would be perfect.
