One of the best games to be released on the Sega Saturn

It was quite sometime ago when I was standing in a shop watching some guys play Guardian Heroes. I didn't even get a turn, but I knew I had to own this game.

Guardian Heroes is an excellent 2D side-scrolling adventure game, and by far one of the best games ever released on the Sega Saturn. What makes this game so excellent is the way that the player (or two players) has a choice what to do next at the end of a level. This gives the game plenty of replay value seeing as theres so many different combinations of paths to take through out the game. There is also 40+ characters to unlock throughout the game which can be used in the Versus mode (along with an addition character for the Story mode).

This leads me to the Versus mode. The Versus mode consists of 2 - 6 characters pitted against each other (or on teams) in an all out brawl. At first there will be only a couple of characters to choose from, but as your progress though the Story mode you will unlock more characters and arenas for the Versus mode. Versus mode has its great moments, but the Story mode is where this game earns most of its excellence.

If there are any Sega Saturn fans out there who don't already own this game, I highly recommend you track down a copy!
