Grid 2, How is it? Single Player, and the much anticipated Multiplayer?

User Rating: 6.5 | GRID 2 PC
First off, I was excited to hear that Grid 2 was finally coming out. I played the original for hours/days/weeks/months on end. Tallied up just over 16 billion in single player career earnings. Played quite a bit online as well, putting my skills to the test. I for one, pride myself on racing clean, holding my line, and finishing the race without a scratch. Pure Simulation. The only way I like to race. Pure skill, and the single player experience does its part to hold up to the original. Though I do prefer more Pro Race Tracks. I have never been a large fan of the inner-city race courses. I like the circuits. But that's just opinion. If you are looking for an adrenaline filled edge of your seat driving experience (game). Then you have come to the right place. Now, Multiplayer is another matter.
I found myself now, almost giving up on the multiplayer experience that Grid 2 has to offer. Its an Arcade style racing format. Go fast, bounce off the walls, and wreck every car around you. At least that's what I have found thus far. It doesn't seem to urge drivers to practice realistic racing. Save your car, keep your lines, clean passes, use your brakes...! Though, the options are there for players to set up races that call for these conditions, all the quick race types that are populated are the latter. Arcade style no holds-barred get some racing. Not my style. I want races that push the drives to get better, thinking first, before they make their move. For that, I only gave it a Score of 6.5. To be honest, I am a little disappointed. Only in the multiplayer mind you. But heck, that's over half the game these days. Online multiplayer are what most games (driving) is all about. Testing your skill, against all others. Who's the best? Can I hang with the big boys? I may have to wait even longer, to find another great online racing game. :(
