Best paintball Game I have played on consoles. Compared to other paintball games I would give it an 8/10.

User Rating: 6 | Greg Hastings Paintball 2 PS3
I am a paintballer, and have played nearly every paintball game. However, every paintball game has been mediocre at best. Nevertheless, compared to other paintball games on consoles, such as, NPPL 09 and Greg Hasting (PS2); Greg Hasting Paintball 2 is the best paintball game on consoles. Nonetheless, if you do not enjoy paintball, don't even think of picking up this game. I rated the game compared to other PS3 games, if it was rated compared to paintball games, GHP2 would be an 8/10

To begin with, GHP2 graphics, career mode, voice acting, and movement is mediocre or worse. However, a person should not expect it to be amazing, because it is a $20 game, and I assume the Devs don't have the resources to make it as pretty as Killzone 3. As a result, I am going to focus on the core part of the game, gameplay.

Compared to Greg Hasting on PS2, it plays similar, with both improvement and worsening. For example, the in game fields are more diverse in GHP2, but GHP2 lacks controlling the break/where your teammates go in a match. Continuing, the AI in this game is a mix between poor and average. Constantly, the AI just takes cover and gets tunnel vision on a specific target, or the AI will just cluster up sometimes. On a positive note, the AI will actually take cover and shoot you if you run out into the open. Even with the AI faults, the AI does provide enough challenge to satisfy me. The equipment and upgrading is not impressive, but it does provide "enough" to satisfy (There are about a dozen items to choose from in each category: barrels, mask hoppers, guns, etc... ). Additionally, I feel that the sliding and running is too fast, and lacks smoothness. Surprisingly, the game offers a variety of maps to choose from: speedball, hyperball, woodsball. Additionally, there is a level editor to create your own fields with a variety of objects coming from woodsball, hyperball, and speedball fields. However, the numerous game modes in "free play/Exhibition" are mostly broken, and you should stick with Elimination mode. Lastly, the controls are not that great, but a person should be able to adapt to the control layout.

Also, the online is fun, except for the fact there are respawns on some servers...Game breaker, you can literally shoot people as they spawn out in the open, especially on a speedball course. (the online will be dead in a few weeks anyways)

Even with the AI lacking refinement, I decided that this game provides "enough" to justify me keeping this game. Therefore, at last, I am able to get rid of my PS2 with Greg Hasting Max, because I feel that Greg Hasting Paintball 2 PS3 is good enough to replace it. Besides, If you don't like this game, only $20 is lost, about half of case of paint; you can trying playing pump for that day :/
