One of the Best RPGs on the PSX, and indeed one of the best games ever made.
the Story is fantastic, you play is Justin, a young teen who dreams of becoming an adventurer, eventually he begins his journey and meets many characters along the way, all while stopping a man named General Baal, from reviving an ancient being of total destruction. the story will move you to be sure and is an overall great storyline.
Gameplay is solid as well, rather then random encounters, you will be able to see your enemies walking around the field, you can choose to avoid them, or fight them, sneak up on them, or if you arent careful, be ambushed by them.
when a battle starts, things revolve between a turn based system and a timed system, similar ot the Active time battle system in Final Fantasy 7
graphically this game is great, the characters are 2D while the enviroments are completly 3D, its unique, but great to look at. to anyone who wants nothing less then full 3D, I say the story and gameplay would be too good to really care. the music is also great and very atmospheric, fitting whatever enviroment youre in.
overall this game is a masterpiece, one of the best games ever made. it never achieved the success it should because it came out on a dying system. by the time this was ported, it was too late. but if you want a good RPG,this is a must for anyone who likes RPGs and puts many, many more modern RPGs to shame
