A game which lacks in absolutely everything except for the battle system which surprisingly keeps the series aliv
Throughout the years, Grandia got lazy because of all the competition that they had to face. They finally decided to come up with this horror of a game.
And now to talk about the game. The main character in this game is the most immature character that I have ever seen in an RPG before. He keeps on talking trash and acting like a 6 year old on top of that, he runs like a sissy.
The camera view in this game is absolutely disgraceful and "extremely"
dissapointing. Half the time I played the game, I could not see where I was going because the camera kept on getting stuck at many uncomfortable spots where the location of the main character would be uknown.
The battle mode is still the same as all the old grandia games, where you walk around and touch a monster to get into a battle and then you use magic and all sorts of other combos and attacks to defeat the enemy.
Similar to SO series except without the free battle movement.
All together, the battle mode is amazing as usual.
Music is very weird, as though they could not have come up with better music. Its not bad, just plain weird with no precise timing.
Since this is a PS2 game, you would expect the graphics to be immpresive, where in Grandia Xtreme, the graphics were very similar to FF7 polygon shaped graphics, which was all dissapointing for a PS2 RPG.
In conclusion, this game is definitely a bad buy, I reccomend you pass on this one and wait for Grandia 3 or play the old Grandia games, because by playing Grandia Xtreme, you will think differentely about all the other Grandia games.
