Down to the last detail its hard to keep your eyes on the ball when it comes to driving.

User Rating: 8 | Gran Turismo 5 PS3
Fifth installement in the Gran Turismo series for the Playstation, first game was released back 1998 for the PS1 and since then the series itself has come along way. We've had Gran Turismo for the PS1, PS2 and PSP, now made it's way to the Playstation 3. It had been shown at various events like E3 and Tokyo Gameshow during and before the release of the PS3, and they released Prologue which most fans have said that it's only half of the game.

This is the full version which fans of the series had been waiting for years and multiple delays was it worth the wait? You could say yes after seeing how much effort and detail that has been putten in to it.

Gameplay: This isn't your avarage everyday racing game like Ridge Racer or Need for Speed, the series has always been based on a simulation and handling the number of vehicles as if your driving a car through your everyday life if you do drive that is.

Two modes are available GT Mode which experince various races in GT Life on A-Spec, B-Spec and challenges, the more races and challenges you take in GT Mode, you also become the boss of your own race team. You'll earn credits to purchase new cars and upgrade them with various parts and tools when it comes to customising your car for races.

Aracde mode is where you can have quick races or time trail but with out getting any credits. You can make your own courses and race circuits and share them online.

Graphics and Sound: Past Gran Turismo games have always made a great impression on how driving/racing games should be made, Gran Turismo 5 does have some of the best graphics and detail for various tracks which most of it's tracks are actully real from various part of the world. Top Gear fans might recongnise a few tracks if you've been following the show, over 1000 cars, 26 different locations are available.

The downside to the latest installment that there are very long loading times when it comes to loading up a race or getting to almost anywhere either the Garage or selecting a course to race on. There is an option before playing the game which is you can Data Install which is 8GB which seems a lot for a download but does have less loading time. 3D is also supported if you own a SONY 3D TV which should come under options.

Lots of loud engine noises and car grunt when it comes driving, but its like that with almost any other car, which can actully make it a little hard to listen or hear any music in the background while driving. Like most car radios you can switch from Rock, Jazz, Dance or Classic, but it is a shame that you can have your own music it and listen to that instead.

Overall: When it comes to trophy collecting it's not an easy one you are more then likely to be spending more then 50 hours playing through GT Mode depending if your a race/driving lover when it comes to games. Online is added where you can 15 other players can race against each other but its online gameplay can be a little slow and sluggish making it hard to see other player infront or trying to catch up.

If you own a PSP and the game for it you can transfer your garage of cars into Gran Turismo 5 by connecting your PSP to your PS3. I would say that Gran Turimso 5 is a fun experiance and worth purchasing for your PS3 collection, it might have one or two problems but all those can easily be ignored, there has been patches and updates so everything esle should have no problem. Down to the last detail its hard to keep your eyes on the ball when it comes to driving.
