Driving around on tons of tracks with tons of cars is fun, but it can become very boring very quick.

User Rating: 7.9 | Gran Turismo 3 A-spec (Platinum) PS2
Tilt:

The Good: Tons of realistic looking cars, plenty of tournaments and things to do, cars look nice.

The Bad: The actual racing part of the game is near braindead and very boring; mainly because all you do is drive, crowd, trees, and basiclly everything besides the cars looks slightly or very dated, no online play.

Gameplay: This is where the game suffers. It is fun to unlock cars, tune them and do the "simulation" part of it, but the racing is very boring. Nascar games require you to draft people, games like Excite Truck and Need for Speed give you a great sense of speed, Burnout's wrecks are fun, but this game is just boring and has none of that; I mean don't get me wrong its fun to drive around on all the tracks with tons of cool cars but it's not very exciting or fast paced and may not hold your interest for long. It's almost too realistic to be fun. Graphics: The cars are very realistic, but the crowd, and other parts of the enviroments look very dated at times, even for a PS2 game. The graphics, other then the cars, just arent the best.

Sound: Cars sound good, some nice tunes. Pretty good.

Value: With so many cars to unlock, tornaments to play, and things to do, this game does not lack in content. Online play would have been nice though.

Diffuculty: In the races it can be a challenge in the later tracks but with a little practice things should run smoothly. To get the hang of simulation mode may take some time or may not. You will have to manage your money and buy new cars while consistently doing well in races. Pacing is good but it will be a challenge to win all races and unlock all cars. Overall the diffuculty seems right.

If you are a fan of games like Forza, and the more realistic games, you will like this. If you like Mario Kart, Burnout of anything like that, you may find this game a bore.
