Kind of, Sort of, Game-sh, a short one too.

Before you read my opinion of the game I would like to pause you and give away my motivation for writing this review. GameSpot's gives a brilliant 9.5/10 for this game, but can it actually define a game-play for this "game" and what is the difference between visual story telling and a game? Yet again I finished it so fast. In the end though I was sort of disappointed. It felt like a stage was masterfully was set but without having an actual show. Overrated and yet alluring game which forced me write a view to help others to decide.

I will confess that if the the goal of a game is to entertain, Gone Home is certainly have enough at its arsenal to provide that. But It is also true that It might not live up to the basics expectations . This can be illustrated as having asked for a Espresso and surprisingly receive and an Ice cream. Even if you like ice cream, interestingly it leaves you with a bitter taste of disappointment and dissatisfaction. Gone Alone weak and next to non-existent game-play.

The story revolves around troubled teenage girl and her troublesome family. Nothing new or revolutionary is told, nonetheless having to get to moving around in this visual book is fun. Graphics, music and overall atmosphere is good enough and serves the purpose well.

The game is an alien amongst its peers, for good and bad reasons. You might decided to give it a shot for its uniqueness whether you consider it a game or not.
