God of War2 is simply flawless, hands down. I thought that it couldn't possibly be that much better than the original, but it smashed even my wildest expectations. It set the standard for perfection in the things that many games make secondary : storyline, cutscenes, detail to environment graphics - not just making them pretty to look at, but obviously thought out and intensely produced down to the finest mote on the floor. Doesn't waste space with duplicate rooms and exteriors, every new setting as you progress through the game is lovingly detailed and executed. After first completion, the challenges to unlock extras make you absolutely work for it, blood sweat and tears, but rewards you for the effort. Enemy AI is well varied, you can't just memorize exactly what they're going to do, you have to keep working at it. I have spent weeks in this game, loving every minute of it. GoW 3 will be the only game to convince me to upgrade to a new console, I can't WAIT.
