It's similar to the experience of Chains of Olympus... thank goodness!

User Rating: 8 | God of War: Ghost of Sparta PSP
Reviews have quipped that Ghost of Sparta has very little new to offer and I think that's because it's just perfect all this time. From the personal satisfaction you get by conquering the battle arenas to the sick pleasures of watching Kratos rip the wretched creatures apart, the gameplay rewards constantly, which is a winning formula any time.

The puzzles are made simpler, thank goodness again, which you wouldn't require any walkthroughs even with an IQ of 10. Thus, the game pace is more consistent and engaging without the frustrations of moving those damn statues about for half an hour.

The secondary weapon featured in this game is different from Chains of Olympus, interacts well with the scripted scenarios and fun to use for a while, but I still prefer Cestus, the fist gauntlets in the first PSP game better. One important feature of the series is the violence, which is an understatement here. I mean, the mocap artists would have instant-died a few hundred times were they really acting out the violence cut-scenes depicted in the game. Krato is totally demented here, but strangely, it really does help in relieving personal mental stress.

An ace in the PSP collection in a long time.
