Gladius is a Gladitorial Role-Playing game. It takes time about the ages of 700 A.D. You can either choose the path of a Female or a Male named Valenz. Valenz is the son of a hero Gladiator that just died somewhat recently. You (Valenz) and your friend Ludo are off to make a school of Gladiators. These 2 Gladiators you start off with. As you battle by going in arenas or just fighting wild animals or other enemies. As you defeat more and more contestants you may recruit other Gladiators to your school. Your school once more is your class of Gladiators. You have your basic level ups to inscrease your HP(hit points) and other statistics like speed, strength, evasion, damage attack etc. One other very neat thing about Gladius is that every time you level your Gladiator up, He or She get Job Points. Job Points can make you get special attacks you may learn. Every move/combo or magical attack cost a certain ammount of job points. These become very useful in battle. Instead of just plain charging your meter up to make a cirtical attack, you can choose a special attack to make your hits even more powerful. Your powermeter is a scale that you press and once it hits the red line, that is where the most powerful point is that will cause a critical hit to make a lot of damage. There are different kinds of Magical moves you can make, from helping your whole team, to effecting your enemy to make him weaker or slower, or to even a critcal attack that would cost two, to even Three times as powerful as a regular hit. As you go on you fight animals, make friends or even help people to get you money or awards. Gladius is a high quality RPG. May not be for Everyone (such as people without patients) because of a lot of Reading and slow combat system, But this game has A LOT of strategy in it. You can cause more damage by going behind an enemy and attacking him, sideways or even up high on a box to cut his head off. It isn't a graphic game but there is blood. GAMEPLAY: Great, Going around the world, competing against Gladiators, Fighting wildlife, running errands to people and to even Fighting evil skeletons and much more. GRAPHICS: Great, Although not Eye shocking they are pretty. SOUND: Great, good voice acting, weapon sounds and other little noticable things. VALUE: Great, although not as much replay value, but still has its strong points in playing again and again. TILT: Superb, This game is overall a huge success in everyway. I suggest at least renting the game. With a little patients and reading it will all pay off into an awesome Gladitorial RPG. -Justin
