Platinum Trophied this game

User Rating: 6 | GhostWire: Tokyo PS5
I got Ghostwire: Tokyo when it was a free monthly download on PS Plus. I believe so because I still have the option to download the game, even though it is not on PS Plus Extra anymore. I put in 40 hours into the over a span of several months, and acquired the Platinum Trophy. I liked the gameplay, graphics, also story, and would recommend this game. The gameplay reminds me of Dishonored and Deathloop. Instead of weapons, you use magic spells. There is a variety of spells to use with three main skill trees of water, fire, wind. Fire being my favorite which deals the most damage at a cost of mana. There are skills that help you traverse Tokyo a lot quicker like gliding and grappling onto a monster to get to the top of a building. The graphics felt very current-gen. Like I'm playing on a decent computer but this is PS5. Great game to capture video clips and take pictures. As the environment is very nice to look at with interesting enemy designs. There's a photo mode which not every game these days have, with filters and such to take awesome photos. I'm not big on stories like I usually skip cutscenes but this game had a cool story where I did not skip a single scene. The story was coherent, I could follow along the plot and conflicts involved. The main character you play as, felt like there was a purpose to his actions. I do hope they make another Ghostwire, it releases on Sony consoles too, and continues the story where the first one left off. I only rate this game a fair 6 out of 10. Whatever engine the developers are using is cool and all but doesn't feel complete. I found it basic. A first person view game that could easily be made in Unreal Engine or Unity. The graphics are where this game shines. The gameplay is great too but they could have fine tuned the movement some more as it does not feel fluid. This game is worth a try. Trophy hunting did become a pain where I would jump in the game, spend hours collecting spirits, and nothing else, because there were so many spirits to collect. GW:T is an eye candy with the graphics. The gameplay is unique but still leaves something to be desired. The story would make a great movie adaptation.
