Game play is alright but is not as intriguing as much as it should be. Story is not as good as review states.

This game has some excellent ideas and gathering up the original actors was a really good idea but come on guys, this game is not as good as some of the others that have preceded it over the past few years. I believe I am half way through it but lack the interest to complete it because of the following reasons....

1. (World) The game play triggers and interaction with the environments are really boring. When you have an opportunity to look around the Ghostbuster's HQ, you will notice that all you can really do is listen to messages on the answering machine (7 new messages and only one message you can listen to) and talk to the painting guy who repeats the same garble over and over again. While you explore, everyone else is virtually frozen and wait for you to say you are ready to go on the mission. You would think that they would have the characters working around the shop and talking to each other -something animated and alive. In the beginning they do it, but even that is limited.

2. (Graphics) The textures are bland and polished only at distances. When you look closely at the walls and environment items, they look good from afar but they end up being pixelated blocks when you get up close. Nothing here really stood out to be really detailed as much as I would like. It is really sloppy work to not fix this.

3. (Movement) The game play get a little frustrating when you get stuck on furniture, hit invisible dead ends, and have to pick up everyone else during battles. Taking photos of ghosts feel like Fatal Frame and it often gets in your way of the actual meat of the game. The whole goggle thing is redundant and not fun.

4. (Bugs) Hey, if you fail to hit a scene trigger, you will get stuck and will have to reload your last checkpoint. This has happened to me three times and I do not like to have to go over the same area again because of this type of bug. Dan Akroyd actually looked like a robot with dead batteries one part and I had to stand right next to him so this would not happen again.

5. (Story) They got the same actors and that is really cool. I felt the story was a combination of GB1 and GB2 but the cut scenes seemed really rigid and inanimate. It worked out but the movies were a lot funnier than the comedy on the game.

Overall, the game could have used a few months of work before release. If the whole Ghostbusters theme was not there, I bet you GS would have given it a much lower score. You are paying for the music, actors, and likeness of the original movie score. You like the movies, hey it is worth it. If not, wait a couple months to see it in the bargain bin... if Columbia will allow it.
