This game is under-rated in my opinion. I bought it cheap expecting not much but I was actually pleasantly surprised.

It's one of those games that despite the rough edges, you play it at least a few times just because it's fun to play. Some of the jumps in the game are rather difficult and at times it's difficult to know where to go and can get very frustrating, but once you figure it out the first time, the subsequent times the game flows well and you can kind of zone out and just have fun. It's not a game where the graphics or sound make the game, it's a game where you can master a given level and truly admire your accomplishment. The hidden easter eggs honestly were part of the inspiration for my replays. The sniper rifle is especially fun. I started to appreciate this game when somewhere in the first stage, I was getting killed by a sniper no matter what I tried. Died a dozen times and was enjoying the challenge of the game (and refusing to look at an online faq). Then I found a trick to solve the situation and was very pleased at the techniques you employ in the game to resolve confilct. I started to like the game right at that point.

True the game could be better, and I'd love to see Hideo Kojima or some wonderful developer really bring a GITS game deserving of the title, but this game certainly was an honest attempt at a game. Pick it up for up to 15$.
