You would be a fool to miss Gears of War.
Don't get me wrong, Gears of War isn't all about blood shed and blow the first thing that moves to a million pieces! There's a nice balance in the game play which requires tactics and stealth as well as variety in weapons in which I have not seen since Unreal Tournament. Every weapon has its own use and purpose in the game and there isn't one period in the game I can recall when the game feels cluttered or unbalanced from too many weapons with similar attributes or that you are constantly versing the same creatures which is a refreshing change which gamers have been waiting for soooooooo many years.
The sound effects are stunning and the soundtrack is nothing less than a flat out stunning masterpiece that brings Gears of War to another level and more importantly brings the game to life. The only problem is that the dialogue can be a little cheesy and targeted towards 13 year old school boys, but it also shows the lighter side to the game as humour is important.
You would be a fool to miss Gears of War as it one of the few games you have to play before you die and one of the finest games made in the past 10 years.
