Without a doubt the game of the year. Not to mention it's in my opinion the best first-person shooter of all time.
Let's start with the single player. Sure it's not too long of a game. But the game's achievements offer a great amount of replay value to the game by giving you a reasonable points for completing the game in all 3 difficulty levels. There are a few very minor issues with the single player though. It's so minor in fact that you can look past it. First, the other members in your squad aren't that smart. They will die a little more than you would wish, so you will have to run towards them and press the X button to revive them. Second, I think there are a few spots where this game could fill in a few more checkpoints because sometimes you are way, i mean way ahead of your last checkpoint and you die. Third, I hate wrenches, but thats just my personal opinion. They do get pretty frustrating in the higher difficulties and often there are so many of them that I end up dying and going back to checkpoint way back as I explained earlier. But if you are a hardcore gamer you can definitely look past everything I just said. It will most likely just cause a little bit of trouble for not such hardcore gamers.
This game is pretty hard on Hardcore and Insane difficulty. You'll definitely want to play this game cooperatively, especially if you are trying to beat the game on insane. If you don't you will most likely find yourself frustrated and constantly dying on some parts of the game.
Also mentioning really quick that this game easily has the best graphics I have ever seen in a video game. and i think most of you would agree.
The multiplayer of this game is also really amazing. At first I thought it wouldn't be so fun because it's just 8 players. but they just proved me wrong. The multiplayer is really fun because really all the maps were well structured for 8 players. The maps themselves are really awesome. There are lots of modes of play and they are all really fun. Also, what's cool about the multiplayer is that it gives you more chances to use all the cool weapons you used in the single player game like the Hammer of Dawn. And you can't fault this game for not giving you the option of driving vehicles, because that isn't what this specific genre of this game is about.
This game pwns Halo 2 and it will probably be the best shooter out there until Halo 3. Hopefully Halo 3 will be even better than this. That would be awesome. But again, just like I stated in the beginning, the only reason why you wouldn't like this game is that you hate action games or you hate this specific genre. If those don't apply to you and you still hate this game than you have serious issues. That's all I will say.
