It's a Fun Feast.
First, visually. It looks SO good. The tone is amazing. The models and textures are so highly detailed that it's mouth watering. The character designs are fantastic. The main characters look like big beautiful He-Man action figures...and I love it. The only weakness here is perhaps the enemies...kind of chiche' designs...oh...and the fact that they're space marines.
The game sounds great too. The voice acting is fun but not too over the top. You can hear the firing of guns in the distance. The monsters sound scary as hell. Explosions sound orgasmic. It's perfect....the only drawback...there are a lot of guys talking who look like space marines.
As far as game play....it's pretty damn good. It's a shooter. Sure, we've all seen those before...big deal. But there are some innovative things here...like the way you use cover. It's a HUGE part of the game..you don't just run and squat...you duck and cover and leap from object to object. You spin around doorways. You hug tight a wall in the middle of a huge firefight. Sometimes it's a little sticky I admit, but overall...it plays great. Even though they are space marines.
Plus, there are some great weapons. You would think with space marines there would be lot's of lasers and force field and nonsense. Nope. Real bullets and projectiles. The only laser you see is a huge cannon shot from space...but that's what you get with space marines.
So please play this game. Not only is the campaign fun...but the multiplayer is wild. It's interesting. It looks fantastic. It's intense. It's great....
And it's gots space marines.
