THQ has shipped MTV Sports: Pure Ride and MTV Sports: TJ Lavin's Ultimate BMX for the Game Boy Color hand held. In the GBC version of Pure Ride players choose from four characters, and take to the slopes to perform over 20 snowboarding moves and stunts including ollie's, grabs, air switches, and flips. Players can compete in three different events: downhill, half-pipe, and rush downhill. In MTV Sports: TJ Lavin's Ultimate BMX players control one of six BMX riders, as they perform in competitions such as dirt, vert, and street. The game features six different environments.

"Snowboarding has quickly become one of the biggest individual sports in the country with over 100 percent growth in the past three years," stated Peter Dille, vice president of marketing for THQ. "MTV Sports: Pure Ride captures the very essence of the sport with freedom, intensity and a whole lot of attitude."

"With over 8.2 million BMX riders in the United States alone, this popular action sport will make a great addition to our extensive Game Boy Color holiday line-up," said Alison Locke, executive vice president of North American Publishing for THQ.

MTV Sports: Pure Ride for the GBC was developed by Visual Impact Productions. MTV Sports: TJ Lavin's Ultimate BMX was developed by Hand Held Games.
