Gas guzzlers Combat Carnage could be called a spiritual successor of 'Death Rally' in 3D but it is much more. A fast paced combat racing game packed with beautiful environments, various cars and different weapon types gives the game that charm that differs it from other racing titles of today. The graphics are in range of latest AAA titles and the music tracks fits the game perfectly. It might be hard to learn at the beginning but once you get the grip of it the fun will never stop. It also comes with multi player, both LAN and over the Internet.
Summary:
On the plus side:
- Great and fluid graphics
- Different customizable and upgradeable cars (from bumper stickers to car parts)
- Various track environments, from desert and canyons to snowy mountain roads.
On the minus side:
- Somewhat difficult AI for beginner players
- Issues with game pad controls mapping
All in all the game provides lots of fun and as the issues are being constantly addressed by the devs the game is definitely a must.
