Adds epic battles and superb atmosphere to the RTS genre!
I am a big fan of RTS games, and I ahve played every game in this genre that is worth mentioning - twice. Honestly, I did not expect much from this game, as games licensed from hot movie brands are normally mediocre a... Read Full Review

Playing the game feels like watching the movie - phenomenally well done settings, but at times you're just watching.
The developers of Battle for Middle-earth did an outstanding job of capturing the feel of Middle-earth. The interface is elegant and beautiful - I particularly like the build scheme, which is fast, easy and doesn't req... Read Full Review

Almost a classic, but overshadowed by others
B4ME (Battle for Middle Earth) is a game that I have mixed feelings about. On the one hand, it's a fun RTS that attempts to capture the spirit and grandeur of Peter Jackson's groundbreaking cinematic epic. Unfortunately,... Read Full Review

If you enjoy sweeping strategic combat - or just love Peter Jackson's trilogy - you should play Battle for Middle Earth.
While most games with film tie-ins generally line the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality, the recent games based on the Lord of the Rings franchise have actually been fairly solid. The Battle for Middle Earth is no... Read Full Review

Did I mention extremely slow load times? Well, it bears repeating. I have a Dell 8200 running at 2.0 Ghz with 512Mb memory. I could read a newspaper article while waiting for games to load. My overall response - "E... Read Full Review

swell Tolkien world-view within an ordinary RTS
I have only played skirmishes against computer-players (Ai), so my comments are limited to that dimension of this beautiful game. My scores being very positive, I limit myself, here, to the negatives : 1. One huge... Read Full Review

And fun is just about all it is. Only for LOTR fans.
If you're looking for a complex and deep RTS, look elsewhere. But if your one of those people who like to get right into the action, this is your game. There isn't much thinking involved in playing this. No flanking or ... Read Full Review

LOTR:TBFME is a good game. Not much. Its not exactly like what I imagined first.
Gameplay: The gameplay is OK but not much... the camera could be more effective I think. Managing many units at the same time can be a difficult task to accomplish... and managing the special powers of the heroes is not... Read Full Review
