Metal Gear Solid (2000) Cheats For Game Boy Color

  1. Stop Alert/Evasion Modes

When you get caught by a soldier inside a building or car, get out of the place and go back in. Keep on doing this and the enemies dissapear, causing your alert mode and evasion mode status to clear. You can also do this by entering and exiting a door.

  2. Special Stage Select

This opens up after you beat the game the first time. Here you can challenge three new missions for each level of the game and you can find out more about the game's story.

  3. Unlock Sound Mode

  4. Radio Program IdeaSpy 2.5

The following trick only works in the Japanese and European version of the game.

After finishing the game once, start a new game and go to the CODEC screen and tune to frequency 140.07. You will now get to read a hidden radio serial titled ''IdeaSpy 2.5''. There's a different episode for each stage. The program is also accessible through the game's stage select mode.

  5. Damage Metal Gear GANDER Early

When you get to Floor B98, throw a grenade down at Metal Gear GANDER. Repeat this again on Floor B99. Using this trick does 4 damage points per grenade (instead of 1 point in normal gameplay), which will be automatically taken off GANDER's health bar in the fight. Note that you can only throw one grenade per floor; any extras won't work.

  6. Alternate Marionette Owl Colors

Before entering the room that contains Marionette Owl, equip either the Night Vision or Thermal Goggles. The color scheme of Marionette Owl's introduction will change depending on which item you have equipped. This also work if you have either item equipped when you defeat Marionette Owl and see his death scene.

  7. Pyro Bison Kill Stats

When you face Pyro Bison, he'll mention how many enemies Snake has killed during the mission. However, this is not just a random number; the game keeps track of your kills and changes Pyro Bison's line accordingly. The bare minimum is 2, as it's impossible to defeat Slasher Hawk and Marionette Owl without killing them.
