Welcome back Guardians
The new Shadowkeep expansion for Destiny 2 is finally live, as well as all the new goodies that come with it. Among said goodies is a whole new slew of rewards--these span Exotic weapons, new armor, and other times of brand-new items, like finishers. There's a ton to earn as you level up the battle pass, and you can see all of the items up for grabs below.
The battle pass has a little bit of everything, including new cosmetics and gear. Like battle passes for many other games, you'll need to reach certain milestones to unlock its rewards--either by completing certain tasks or just buy playing the new expansion and finishing specific activities. It's all experience-based though, so pretty much anything that you do in Shadowkeep will go towards unlocking something.
There's quite a bit to unlock, with plenty of cool-looking rewards for you to look forward to, regardless if you're playing through Shadowkeep as a Titan, Warlock, or Hunter. The armor unlocks change depending on which class you're playing as. For instance, if you're playing as a Hunter, you'll get Hunter armor.
Though Shadowkeep is releasing as the latest expansion for Destiny 2, it's also launching as a standalone game. Additionally, New Light--a free-to-play version of Destiny 2--is also releasing today, providing a way for players to start from the beginning of Destiny 2's campaign and play through most of the Year 1 content without paying anything. If you're unsure of how to approach Destiny 2 if you're a new player, we have a guide that advises which version to go for depending on what you want to get out of Bungie's loot shooter.
Shadowkeep is Destiny's largest update since Forsaken, implementing numerous buffs and debuffs to existing abilities, and adding new areas to explore and story missions to tackle. It's a bit difficult to play at the moment--especially on PC--as the servers are at capacity, but that problem should dissipate over time. Be on the lookout for our early impressions as well as a final review.
