I noticed this game the day GS posted the game play demo. Looks really original and engaging. It really is a fun game. Basic training shows you all the things you need to know and then you’re off to fight. The first thing I noticed is the amount of team work required in the game. There is no way to survive in this game unless one team backs up or helps the other one, and the best thing is that you control both teams, so you don’t get frustrated that your teammate set you up (happens in a lot of team based games like CS for example). The game tries to be many things are the same time, and that’s one of its flaws. How do you make an action-packed strategy? One of the things is the limited range of the grandees. In many cases you can’t use them, because your cover is too far for grenade to reach the enemy (I am sure the developers designed levels like this on purpose). You can’t shoot the guy even from 5 feet away, so you have to go around and shoot him in the back. Another thing is how they emphasize that you have a very limited supply of grenades and M203 rounds, when in reality you will meet only few enemies in the level, so you can pretty much blow each one of them with grenade or launcher. It’s still fun and that’s what makes this game the strategy. What’s the point of just running and annihilating everything that gets in your sight? That’s one of the problems that most of the games have. Personally, I get bored of games like that in one hour. In this game you have only one choice – use your head to find the solution. You still can try to go head-on, but it only works in rare cases. You can get blown up with RPG even if you’re well-hidden behind the corner. Later, some of the levels and tasks get repetitive, but the developer tries to keep the situations diverse and there are quite a few memorable moments in the game. (when you get caught between the tank and RPG and have to find your way out, by using different tactics like smoke grenades, suppressive fire and teamwork). I have to agree that AI in this game isn’t great, but in most cases it is flawless and very hard to kill, because it will do it’s best to stay alive. In some instances when you use smoke grenades and sneak through, AI won’t notice you at all, so you can throw nade standing right in front of him and he won’t do anything, even when the smoke cleared up. I am almost done with the single player and plan on going through this game again once I am done.
