This game had a reputation for me of being incredible before I even played it. I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about it, and yet, it sat in my Steam inventory for the better part of a month. After finally redeeming it I can say without hesitation that I waited too long. For the price it is an incredible game with so much to offer, I greatly enjoyed it.

The game seems deceptively simple when you load of the tutorial and launch your first few missiles. You think to yourself "I can handle this. This won't be so bad," and then in about an hour when your ship gets destroyed, you're left slack jawed saying "how in the ever loving crap was I supposed to avoid that? It's unpossible!"

I assure you, it is possible and you will get there, but the most important part, more than success at the game itself, is to enjoy the ride. This is a very enjoyable ride if you're a fan of retro games like myself. The music is spot on, unobtrusive, and most of all atmospheric/engaging. The combat is fast-paced -- if you're the person doing all the defensive commands -- and the game itself is hard, without going Super Meat Boy and making me want to rage quit.

You could do much worse than to spend your money on this game.
