Dreamcast Mech's Game Masterpiece!!!

User Rating: 9 | Frame Gride DC
For the sake of the freakin Impressive underrated Dreamcast gem!!!
the first time i played this game, i didn't have any idea, what kinda game it was??.the screenshot on boxart filled with japanese text, as the screenshot represented some small images of fighting scene, similar to Virtual on.
since everything is in japanese even on menus.i just guessing around at first.but after i past through some weird text option with scary guardian shadow asked several option.i got my Mecha..& you know what??
The Mecha Design are SUPERBLY IMPRESSIVE!!..this is not gumdamesque frame or Mech warrior blocky unit, its remind me of Medieval Knight & armed with Ridicolously Huge sword, and shotgun with Blade on its Front!!! and looking at the customization menus that havent open yet.its a lot of customization possibility there i tell you!.

let's go to gameplay.first about control.the button pattern are similar with Armored Core, kinda tedious at first play as the default kinda clunky. but when i tweak the button layout on menus..Its enjoyable and responsive..
and the mech battle. its hella FAST..on 60 fps.Its D*** FAST..as fluid as Virtual On is, both frame would class on high speed battle. the outcome of battle not only determined by your fighting skill, but also the parts that you carried, and there's the customization aspect of Frame Glide.there's many combination of the armors that effect differently on one stage. so you should pick several armor combination for finished this game as one combination won't held againts different type of armor you'll face..the enemies varied from standard knight frame as you, up too Terifying boss monster ;-)

The graphics in this game are Top notch.almost soul calibur level, & easily top any dreamcast mecha game out there.the mecha detail are insane! you could see the craft on every part of frame, as well the varied weapon attachment, there's no boxy blocky part like on armored core or Virtual on, every mech here. have organic shape, that obviously eat all dreamcast capability until its limit. the environment is impresively detailed. a bayside castle, snowy ruin, as well dense forest. and that details not just for eyecandy, the environment warfare are crucial aspect on Frame Glide.the leveled terrain on castle stage could be exploited for the long range offensive, or the narrow trees distance on forest stage could be used as cover for guerilla style offensive.
the sounds just fit with the medieval atmosphere, not as epic as Soul Calibur BGM and SFX, but the sound on Frame Glide was simply fit and proper.
The story was about a young Knight who fight againts some ancient villain that attacking his country , a bit cliche, but since the game focusing on great Costumization Gameplay and Graphics..the story add another good aspect. though not too much special

now this the wrap up. Frame Glide for Dreamcast, (9 years after Dreamcast farewell..i just happened found this Import XD.)
