Ok that adapter is really starting to tick me off. Ok my mom got me a wireless adapter as a graduation present i plug it in it doesn't work so i move the modem from the basement to the room next to the room where my xbox is and it still wont work and both of those times on the adapter theres a solid red light. WTF.
Okay do you have a wireless router? I know it's a silly question, but you said modem in your first post and I wasn't sure. If so then go to network settings and select edit settings, the bottom option on that page should be for wireless settings, select this and it should search for available networks. Simply select your network and it should try to connect. If you have any security set up then you should be prompted for this. If your network doesn't show up when it searches then you either have a weak signal or your router is set to hidden.
Okay if you dont have a wireless router it wont work,mine works fine,if you still have problems you should just call Microsoft they should help you out in a minute.
