There are many web sites where you can test your speed.. Do a search and I am sure you will find one. The one I use is through my cable co. web site. I am a member so I use there site to test my connection. I am sure you can probably find a site to test your connection for free.

Kbps = (1000)

Mbps = (1,000,000)

It's just math..

I am just curious what did you connection say when you went to that site. Mine was 577 Kbps.

That's not good.. Do you have cable or DSL?? If you have cable you should bring in your cable co. and have them look over your house. You might be a new splitter or some new cables or something.

I have the only high speed internet available to me: DSL 1.5mbps down, 1MBps up. It works pretty well with Live. I really wish that wasn't our ONLY option. If they ever extend cable to our area we are getting 12mbps right away.

DSL

Oh, that's too bad.. If your area has cable you should consider getting cable. The price is similar. I actually think DSL is a rip off. Cable is ten times faster at only a slight increase in cost. DSL is the reason x-box live lags. I know it's not your fault, it's just too slow and that is why Halo 2 lagged so much.

DSL is crap in most cases.  Under ideal conditions it's fantastic but nobody in the world meets those conditions.  Cable is the way to go.  Time Warner high speed here, 12 megs down, 4.5 megs up.  I can't complain.
