i was in your shoes looking for a new game to keep me busy.  i asked the same question and apparently the game is killer online and has a fun but short single player game.  i played it for about an hour at a friends 2 days ago and it was pretty damn fun.  maybe rent it first.

i think the game was GREAT. bets mech out there, GREAT bossfights, good online and really beautifull. it's such old school fun. i can't understand why any normal gamer wouldn't like this game....

My rule about buying games that I am unsure of is this.  If you're ever unsure on buying a game, rent it first.

i'd say no. the singleplayer is short and the online isn't as good as games like gears of war and halo.

If you want a game that will last you this is not the one for you. It's a good game but I rented it and beated in a couple of days. Multiplayer was okay. Hardly any stealth involved just alot of run and gun.

It took over a week for the game to grow on me. It takes a few levels to really get into it. The boss fights are really good but like most people are telling you, renting it first will save you alot of time & money.

Lost Planet like Dead Rising is what I like to term a "Next Gen, Old School" game. What that means is that it is really just a big arcade type game. Little to no story with lots of guns, explosions and killing and alot of midless fun!! LP's multiplayer is average at best and the single player is fun but can be annoying if you dont want to work at it!!

you are right for the most part, but it's better than avarage. It's old school with big bugs and mechs... if you likie those things you'll love thue game. Any game is annoying if you don't want to work for it.

Definately! The single player is short, but a lot of fun. The multiplayer is fantastic, with a full fledged leveling up system the rings in points for everything you do! It's even got a cute little levling up bar! Make sure to get the collectors editon, too. The box is amazing...

I downloaded the single player demo the second day I bought the XBox 360 and I really liked it. The Atmosphere felt really neat, it has really nice graphics (even on a flat screen SDTV like mine) and it's a nice shooter (yup, I like shooters alot). I would definately consider getting it. BTW, anyone knows what extras the collector's edition has?

Play both demos if you can. Some people love the multiplayer (myself included) some people hate it.

Oh god yes! I was kinda iffy about getting it also, but i decided what the hell, cuz i loved the demo, and the its great! The multiplayer is really addicting and very fun, and the single player (imo) had a cool storyline, if you enjoyed the demo, or are thinking you might like the game, then get it for sure

The singleplayer kind of well sucked to me but the multiplayer is awesome and addictive. Lost Planet is a homage to old school gaming!
