How much bandwidth does Xbox live use?

Does anyone know the usage of bandwidth that Xbox LIVE needs?

But more specifically, does anybody know how much more it uses when in party/private chat and hosting games. The reason i want to know this is because i keep getting emails through saying that i'm using up 40GB (which is my monthly DL limit) in 3 weeks, which is BS. Most of the time i'm on the dashboard in party chat... and yes i know using my PC etc will eat away at it too, but i rarely ever download files and occasionally go on youtube. I also know no one else has hijacked my connection.

Apparently "Xbox Live averages about 10MB download and 6MB upload /hour for online play" (not sure if true) which is when you're on the dashboard not doing anything.

Just FYI -I'm with BT, and i've seen a LOT of forum posts on their site of other customers being wrongly charged and that BT are wrongly calculating the monthly usage

Im not sure.Ive never had a problem with Live using alot of bandwith though but I got Netflix recently and that seems to really eat it up.Do you have Netflix?

im not limited at all at how much, just that if i pass 4.5 GB between noon and midnight, they half my speed during that time. right now they let me have infinite until noon at 10Mb/s download(sometimes up to 12Mb/s then after noon if i use over 4.5GB, they limit the speed to half of that.

Nah, I live in the UK, no Netflix here. I don't use any Dashboard streaming service i.e. Zune, Last.fm etc. I honestly don't see how i use that much a month.
