hi everyone, i just received a message on xbl from some random dude stating that everyone should file complaints againt his gamertag name so he can change it for free. my question is does this acutally work?

I guess if it sends him an auto message to change it, but if someone actually looks at it and reviews it I doubt it... just make a new one

I don't mind paying to change my gamertag (atleast we get the option) but 750microsoft points is reallly a bit much, they should make it 200 microsoft points or something. Even 50 microsoft points will stop people from changing their gamertag every so often.

the whole point of it being that expensive is so people wont go changing their gamertag every week.its a good idea for it to be so much actually.

nah 50 is nothing, and again 200 wouldnt stop poeple making stupid names for a bit and changing again, they could lower the cost and also put a limit on how many times you can change your GT within a period of time

Free gamertag change if people complain about the gamertag? It might just work. I don't know anyone who did that tough, so yeah. I also heard that if you make "MAKE XBOX LIVE FREE" as your motto, the more people does that the more Microsoft might think about making it free. I just made my motto in that just now after seeing others.

hmm i might just try it now. it seems pretty simple, i guess ill just have to hope that it works. if anyone has any more experiences with this, plz post them. also if you want to discuss if this service should be free or not, go ahead. personally i agree with the idea that it should be free with a monthly limit

Good point, 750 points (although I think it's 800) is far too steep to change your tag.

800 MS points is 10 American dollars, that's WAY to much

If your name is decent it doesn't matter how many complaints you get. I know some people that have had to change it after one complaint so every time they sign on it has to be changed.

only if the gamertag is actually somewhat bad, as in profane or something.

if he just doesn't like his name but there isn't anything wrong with it it won't do much.
