With the anouncement of Jade Empire as a game available on the Xbox Originals, I started wondering if the Originals aren't a big scam. I mean you pay 15 dollars for a game you will never physically own when you can buy the same game for less and get the box and the manual and the actual disc. I bought Psychonauts because I wanted the game badly and couldn't find it but unless game prices go down to 400 points I'll never buy an Original again. Your thoughts?
games like fable and halo are because they are fairly easy to find and only cost 10 bucks, some of them are tough to find so they are pretty good deals, im excited about downloading banjo-kazooie as they announced at E3, i wonder how much they'll charge for a N64 game
Is the load times on games downloaded via Xbox originals faster than if I'd just had the regular game disc? I would think faster loading would be a definite advantage of having it as an Xbox Original download rather than having the physical disc. But I too prefer to have a physical disc, for the reason that it's much easier to then trade/sell/pass on to someone who would make better use of it if it's a game I decide I didn't want anymore. With a download, it's more-or-less permanently in my account, and part of my "mark of shame".
Some are hard to find... before originals came out I ended up getting Indigo Prophecy for PS2 regardless of the fact that my PS2 barely works because I couldn't find it for Xbox after looking for a couple months.
Factor in gas prices, time saved and the fact that the xbox division is getting your money instead of some third party store and it isnt a bad deal in my opinion. I have 2 xbox originals
I'd be more satisfied with Xbox Originals if they added achievments.

It would be a PAIN for them to do that, since it involves things like getting the development team back together, re-coding it again, and a lot of complicated stuff.

In the US MS points are considerably cheaper than other countries, so for most countries preowned is a much cheaper way of playing originals.
I picked up the Halo Triple Pack (Halo, Halo 2, Halo 2 MP Map pack) for less than it would cost me for one xbox original download. For me its a no-brainer.
As for people talking about factoring in petrol costs - come on - you're going to be looking in the game store anyway at some point, even when you don't buy anything. And as far as saving time? If the download is over 1GB its much quicker for me to drive to my local game store, buy the original and get home to play it - not that I'm ever wanting to play an original I don't have that badly :)

there was an article in Game Informer about this, they talked to the devs of various originals, they stated that adding acheivement poitns would be an incredibly simple process and they couldn't understand why it wasn't included either.
