why?

Have been playing games for well over 30 years, it was only natural that I would. Plus it had lots of games I was itching to play (I joined this generation late)
Had the original XBOX so i wanted the 360. I like the controllers over Playstation and i prefered the exclusive titles for the 360

That's the exact same reason why I bought one. I was really looking forward to some of the sequels to some of the Xbox games so the only way I would be able to play them would be through the next console.
Because Sony let go of all of their exclusives, and I figured that with that kind of support I might as well change sides and buy a 360 cause it was cheaper
Because i am dating Bill Gates. If he saw me with any other console I think he would beat me so I had to buy an xbox 360.
it was cheaper than a ps3 and all of my friends have one.SF_KiLLaMaNSame here. The price difference is huge when you have a very limited income. And i'd rather see my money going to bill gates and staying in america, then having it go off to other countries.
I bought the 360 because of the reputation of the Originial Xbox, which was superior to the PS2 in terms of graphics and processing power, and was a very reliable machine.
I was also a Halo fan at the time but I have since lost interest and happily made the switch to COD.
Had I known how loud, noisy, and prone to failure the 360 would be, I would have waited for the PS3, which looks better, performs better, and is the overall better value when you consider that you save $50 a year by not paying for Xbox Live (ripoff) and you get the best Blu-ray player on the market integrated into your console.
Add buying a 360 instead of a PS3 to the numerous bad decisions that have riddled my life.
In that time I was without money for a ps3 and then I used the money I had to buy my 360. Now I hate myself because I bought my 360 instead of a ps3 because of all the problems that the 360 can have.
Played original xbox, xbox 360 had sick games real pissed off i can't play the warriors on my xbox 360 though.
I bought mine this year mainly for Tales of Vesperia (at the time), Star Ocean 4, Lost Odyssey, Halo 3, Fable 2, Gears of War series, Banjo Kazooie and for the multiplats with exclusive DLC like GTA4 and Fallout 3. These reasons outweighed my reasons to get a PS3.
Wow, I just have the XBox360 some weeks and I see this topic the third time. Anyway: main reason was Star Ocean, others were the exclusives I always wanted to play 8like beautiful Katamari xD)
i got it for battle for middle earth 2 (my pc was crap the time) and all the games that u knew were going to come out on it-fable 2, halo 3 and i remeber seeing something about deadrising that sold me on it and not to mention how long it was till the ps3 came out, im glad i got a 360 because the ps3 sucks
I had a hard time deciding between ps3 and xbox. I'm a huge killzone fan, and metal gear solid... BUT, xbox has better arcade games, and halo 3 as overrated as it is, and mass effect, bioshock (which the ps3 hadn't released yet), gears of war, ghost recon advanced warfighter, braid.. plus i had heard you need to install ps3 games on the harddrive to play them, which sounds inconvenient and lame.
I never had a console before 360 so I just kinda wanted to try out.
PS2 was something which I never even considered, and PS3 was only in the makeing few years back.
And I am still happy with my choice, even though I am thinking about getting a PS3 just as a sidekick :)
