Vanquish question on main character.

I just bit the bullet and started playing Vanquish. So far its a great game. All the hype is true but I have one nagging question about the main character. The guy with the awesome suit that we control, I forgot his name.

Why the heck does he smoke a cigarette right before or after a major event. It's as though he's trying desperately to act cool but looks rather lame and shallow taking a puff between sentences. Oh, look I have time to smoke inbetween battles. This small element in the game could've been removed.

Is this part of Japanese culture, looking cool smoking a cigarette?

Id say its part of *** and american culture. there are plenty of heros who go around looking bad ass and smoking.

He's a chain smoker who smokes before, during, and after stressful events. Not all that crazy.

If thats something that bothers you, do not play Deadly Premonition.

He doesn't do a very good American accent. You can refer to Balthier from Final Fantasy XII and Fenris from Dragon Age II if you want to hear his actual accent.

Lol...

And yeah everything was flowin smoothly first time I played the game but when it came to Sam's voice I was like o_O wtf...
