I've had my LCD monitor all along and I finally got the VGA cord and speakers needed and it looks so good. I'm running on 1280 x 1024 - widescreen - expanded - And it is awesome! I believe I have read that is the best quality for my xbox. Is there one better that I should be using? I've only played Halo 3 on it so far but I'll try my other games soon. I noticed so many details in the picture and its just WOW. I see things I've never seen before! Like the grenades on the top left of screen I can see the lines and textures of them! (the sound is amazing too I have Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers and the bass is beast)

I finally got my 1080p tv hooked up and working last night and the difference is incredible. I noticed things about my character in Shadowrun that I'd never seen before.

It does. But I played better with SD. With HD I tend to shoot bushes thinking they are the enemy. :|

You think it would be the other way around, the bushes in higher resolution look like bushes. But for me... no. I'm just not sure. Maybe because I'm partially color blind and sometimes I have a hard time on higher resolution because things like texture tend to blend in better.

Nah, don't worry about it man. I just have a hard time with greens and browns. Other than that I'm happy as a clam. :)

But green is such a wonderful color.:( I'm glad you're not too busted about it though. I'd have a hard time with it.

I made the same jump - from a SDTV to a PC LCD screen - and the difference is huge. The picture looks so much clearer and you get so much more detail. As for the resolution 1280x1024 sounds fine, and that is probably the native resolution of that monitor. With the VGA cable you can set the dashboard to that exact resolution, though in games it will still revert to 720p. Some games letterbox, others seem to fill the screen. Can't remember if there was an option to select that, but I was doing that on the old dashboard (pre-NXE). I've now upgraded to a HDTV which is designed for 720p so it works great :)

Don't feel like buying a TV just for my 360. Maybe a PC monitor, but for now I'm happy with my SD. I have seen and played 360 in HD, and you're right TC.

This thread makes me sad. I was playing in max HD on my LCD happy as a clam until the 360 video went out. Did the towel trick now video is working but only on non-HD . Part of me wishes my 360 would completely break down so i can just accept it and get a new one.

I have a 32" full HD LCD TV at home, wired up to a Dolby 5.1 system, and it is simply the greatest thing ever. At least until i get an OLED.

By contrast, in my London flat I only have a crappy little 14" old school TV...yknow the ones with that stupid round wire aerial? My god, it is AWFUL. I can't even make out the HUD in most games. Makes me cry :(

The jump from SD to just 480p is incredable. HD makes all the difference.
