Gold offers online play as well as being able to get new demos earlier than Silver members. there's a bunch of other little features included, but it's worth $50 a year if you're into online gaming.

i think you get a 48-hour trial with a new 360 and some games come with 48-trial cards. You can buy a $50 1-year XBL Gold membership card anywhere where games are sold (Gamestop, Best Buy, even Super Target). Don't pay for XBL with your credit card through the Dashboard, though. Just don't.
....ugh mircosoft is greedy arent they.....$300 console $100 dollar wireless adapter $4.17 a month fee for online service.....what else do you get with live? Something about netflicts move rentals...but i probably have to pay a separate charge per movie rental too. How much are Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD and Geometry Wars 2 and do i get any free xbla points when i buy xbl gold?
you don't need the wireless adapter. you can use a wired connection for Live. and you do not get free XBLA points when you get XBL Gold. you'll have to buy XBL Point cards seperately (similar to Wii Points i'm guessing). The stupid thing is that 80MS pts = $1, so it gets confusing. XBLA games are typically $10 (or 800MS pts). some are $5 and some are $15, but a typical XBLA game should be $10. i know. it's awful, but it didn't stop me from getting timeless classics.

And whats the stupid increments that i have to buy these MS points in to insure that end up spending more that i need to? you won't be spending more than you need to. the only difference is that $1 = 80MS pts and a $10 game on XBLA would be 800ms points. you'd still be paying $10, but the increments just get confusing. why 100ms pts couldn't equal $1 is beyond me, but when it comes to just buying MS points, you're not really spending more than you need to. the prices of the things on XBL you actually use MS points for, though, are usually the things that are overpriced (such as certain XBLA games and DLC)
And Finaly is the 60GB enough to store updates patches and arcade games??

For instance the 20GB hard drive only has 13.9GB of ueable memory, the 60GB as about 54GB of usable memory and the 120GB has 107GB of usable memory. Arcade games are usually no bigger than about 50MB from what I've seen and most game saves only take up between 60KB and 7MB (1MB is equal to 1024KB and 1GB is equal to 1024MB). Basically you will have plenty of room for things. Hell you could even instal about five or so Xbox 360 games and still have more than enough memory for game saves and patches.

hm? you can purchase 360 games and download them directly to the Hard Drive? Do you need a really good internet connection to play on live or will a decent DSL connection do? Is there really that much of a difference between using the regular cables and the HDMI cables and is the difference worth the price? Does the console come with the wire to allow you charge the controller's battery while you are playing? Are there any accessories that do not come with the system that i should be looking into?
oh and if i purchase the 360 it will be the $300 one.

And check Amazon, or Buy.com or other on-line vendors for specials. Amazon had Live Gold for like 25% off for 2 months straight so it was even less then $49.99 a year. Only if your cash rich would you pay for the 1 month and auto-pay with your live account. Some games will give you 48hr trial period codes as well.
