diff between xbox created around December 2007 vs those who are more recent like February 2008....

I just bought my 360 last week and i just noticed the date my 360 was made in December 2007......i know it usually takes a while before the 360 hits the shelf but i thought it was a tad old considering i bought it last week

i have a pro and i know the core upgraded from standard cable to HD...so i was if the newer pro models have changes as well especially regarding the noise level....it is annoying when it loads up (it sounds like the halo gun powering up) ....so should i try and exchange it for a newer date

Newer Xboxes have Falcon Chips...but really, there's no way to tell without opening your Xbox, which will void your warranty. Other than that you should be fine.

And yes, My Xbox sounds like a Semi-Truck as well.

Started in like July 07,
my halo edition xbox runs real quiet, almost as quiet as my ps3, it's surprising, my launch pro sounded like armageddon was coming and we'd have to deal with bruce willis' acting for the next hundred years.

you can tell if the newer 360 models have the falcon chips in them without having to open up your 360...just look at the power brick of the newer 360 models and then look at the power brick of the more older ones and if the brick says 175W then that one has the falcon chip...and im just tell you what i was told so no one start to say stuff if im wrong

you can also look before buying. on the box of the 360 there is a label on one of the sides.

Look for it to say: 175W, Team: FDOU. if you see this then it is a falcon model.

The falcon models have a smaller cpu which produces less heat. It also has a redesigned heatsink layout, and no more X-Clamp, which was the main reason for RROD.

based on what u guys are saying is that the only difference is the falcon chip...so since mine was made on December 2007 there is nothing new in last 4 months ...so there is no point of exchanging it??

no u don't need to. the difference is the new falcon chip that keeps the system much cooler. i have a december 07 i've had for 4 months... my first one idk when that was made lasted me 4 months so i think u should keep it.
