Absolutely.
Dead Rising (15-20), Oblivion(60-300+), Eternal Sonata (25-40), Mass Effect (30-60), BioShock (12-16), Guitar Hero III (4-500+), Rock Band (4-500+), PGR4 (12-20), Forza 2 (8-15), DiRT (8-15), FIFA 08 (10-25), The Darkness (8-12), Assassin's Creed (8-15), and yes, even Halo 3 (5-15) and Call of Duty 4 (6-9) have exceptional single player modes. The numbers in parentheses next to each game are estimates of length of time in hours. The only games I included replay value in are GHIII and Rock Band because the single player mode 1 time through is always short, but let's be honest, those are 2 games that surely have compelling replay value.
As you can see, just from a minor list off the top of my head I can suggest to you hundreds of hours of good games that you can play completely offline.
depends on if u have another system or not...bluezclue
got the ps3. im deciding on which new console I should get. 360 or wii
there's a lot of excellent off-line game for 360.. but it does help to have some on-line for updatingsunnystarz
do i need to pay anything to update?
Sure. There are a lot of great games for the system. Just look at the 360 games list or go to the store and see if there are enough games you want to play. Not to mention you can choose the best version of multi-plat games if the 360 version turns out to be the best between the two.
You can get the backwards compatibility update from the 360 site, burn it on a cd and use that to update your system.
Thats the way I did it before I got on live.
If you don't play videogames online, I would definitly get the Playstation 3 instead. 360 has some great offline games, but when it comes down to it, online is where 360 really soares. I own 15 360 games, and only 5 of them would I say had more of a focus on single player than MP. Those being
1. Tony Hawks Project 8
2. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
3. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
4. Crackdown
5. Blue Dragon
These games were all pretty fun, but I think Playstation's games soar above the 360 when it comes to games who have more of a focus on single player. That's just How i've always seen it, and that's how I purchase my games between the two systems.
star wars knights of the old republic. best sp game ive played on the old xboxdeaethsymbolicSame. I love the story and If you havent played the game I will not spoil any thing for you. It has a lot of twists and turns in it especially at the end when you find out that youre. Woops I cant say it.
I only played one online game and it was for mgs3...It seems like a lot of good xbox games are meant for online and the single player seems average and or short to most people...So is it worth getting a 360 if I rarely go online?GSWarriors-
Yes, it is worth it...the are plenty of 360 tittles you can enjoy off-line.
i have xbox 360 and i have never been online and yes i enjoy every minute of it,iam so glad i bought x360 :)
yes 360 owns has all the games
if you like kid games then get the wii or over weight
sence you dont got xbox live get rpg games and rent the rest rpg last way longer then shooters and xbox gots them oblivion is one mass effect but alot of glithing and fable 2 next year those games are just for the 360
Yeah the 360 is well worth it without live! plus you can save yourself some money and get the arcade system for $279 (it comes with a 256mb memcard)b/c if your not going to use Live then you don't need the harddrive (unless you want Backward Compatibility) For game saves 256mb will last a LONG time. I bought the Core system nearly two years ago and have never used Live and I don't feel like I'm missing out b/c the single player portion of 360 games is usually very strong.
Between the 360 and the Wii I'd still go with 360 b/c it has several very good exclusives such as Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, and so on. Wii is geared more toward younger gamers with games like mario....
my favorite fps on the console (orange box) had a horrible online protion but i still play half-life and portal a bunch.
oblivion is by favorite game on the system. maybe my favorite game ever.
a ridiculus amount of other games also have great offline portions.
online is nice but in my opinion, offline at its best cannot be beat.

Sure. You can still enjoy hi-def graphics, Bioshock, GOW, Halo 3 and oblivion and Dead rising are just some great games for name.
