- Would you buy it?

- Would it become more popular?

- Would it be a good MMORPG for the 360?

I think I would definitely buy it. I don't have it, but it looks like a great MMORPG for the PC. I mean I haven't heard of any MMORPGs for the 360 yet, and I think this would be a great start.

Your thoughts?

i personally am a member of warcraft. the only thing that will draw me into it would be if my characters from the pc version were to move to the xbox version also. they need to simplify combat its not click and swing its a game where you click on a talent at the bottom theres so many diffent spells and attacks it would need to be dumbed down.

I couldn't care less about the game and would never under any circumstance play it. Those types of games or for a certain type of person and I am not one of them.

With all the abilities and features in word of warcraft, i think it would be nearly impossible for it to work on the 360

I probably wouldn't, though I do think the 360 would be more than capable of playing it. You would just need to have one of the larger hard drives. Especially with the new xpac coming out.

The main difficulties in playing it on the 360 would be communication, control and mods. If you've ever seen the interface, there's a lot to hotkey. It would be difficult to play well without a keyboard and mouse. The main problem I've found is that it's extremely awkward to use a keyboard while lounging in front of the tv playing games. The keypad might work somewhat, but that might also be a bit awkward.

Communication problems fall under the same mods problem. In order to fully participate in raiding, you need to have some 3rd party mods. Threat meters, boss mods like Deadly Boss Mod, and class related add-ons like decursive and pally power. Threat meters will be added in WOTLK, from what I hear, but a number of the mods required for raiding are still developed by the community. There would need to be a way to distribute those to Xbox players.

Ventrilo falls into the same category of 3rd party downloads. Blizzard did add an in game voice chat, but it sucks and nobody uses it. Any raiding guild uses some sort of 3rd party voice chat program like Ventrilo or Team Speak. Very little is communicated in text during raid time.

Sorry 4 buttons just doesn't work at all in raids. The targetting would also be hell especially for healers and tanks.

Can't be done. WoW's interface is way to complicated. They can't just make a straight port. If they made a whole other version for consoles, that might work.

Yeah. That would be a nightmare. A lot of the boss and even trash encounters require too much quick reaction time. I can't imagine AoEing some mobs down, while also decursing and keeping a finger over iceblock just in case with a controller.

Yeah I kind of agree with that. I was a raid tank in my days with WoW and there were so many different things I had hotkeyed, macroed, etc... it would be a mess trying to fit it all into a 360 controller. I'm not sure how the chat window would work either as I kind of felt it was a pretty important thing to have the ability to type out fast messages if need be. I think WoW is meant to be played on a keyboard but I loved the game and if it somehow ever wound up on 360, I'd at least check it out. I don't think it would be nearly as good, but I'd check it out nonetheless.

There would be to much work for blizzard to do to make it a smooth playable game imo, not to mention the clusterfunk of an interface you would have to deal with, though that could be fixed with say a keyboard and mouse that came with the game or something *shrug* I am quite sure Blizzard is happy doing what they are doing for the time being though.. they making a couple bucks lol

ya like someone mentioned they could package the game with a keyboard and mouse or a special controller a la guitar hero. as a long time player of WoW though, i think it works well on the PC and id see no reason to play it on my xbox. it aint gonna happen and it wouldnt work as well as it does on the PC if it did go to xbox, but id rather pay my 15 to blizz stead of 15 to blizz and 5 to M$ at the same time. a person with a keyboard and mouse will always be better off playing an MMORPG than someone with a controller. lots of people mentioned raiding but imagine PvP as well. It would be nice to see it come to 360. 360 only needs one big MMO to break the anemic amount of MMOs coming to consoles. RTS games broke through nicely. I would like to see MMOs do the same because I would die to see the Marvel Universe MMO they talked about last year come to 360!

Thoughts -

Inteface could work, simply use that messenger pad for somethings/if you want a deeper interface

e.g. right off the bat get 3 rows (?) of keys

Xbox Live chat better than WoW chat (who doesn't still use Vent?) and built-in, great for Raid/group use

Would need some basic mods on/off and drag-it, but really, I'm not seeing anything too bad

d-pad, 2 analogs, many buttons, have action choices change per stance/modifiers

Would it fun?

I think it could be, tho even more focus probably on action and less stupid channel [text] chat (yay lol)

The cost tho?

I think $9.99 [or less], already paying for live, and that seems to be the defacto 'up' cost

The idea of '360 servers' is interesting tho, maybe with modified build, environment, classes for some easier usage

Who knows, maybe we'll find out down the road they're killing downranking exactly for this reason o.O

I think the melee types would be the easiest and possibly most engaging, particularly with Paladin changes and new DK

Still... it'd be a lot, and for whatever reason the Sony box allows for mouse/keyboard before MS, go figure. Maybe PS3?

Too complex to play on the xbox. I stopped playing it but everytime i fire up TF2 or CS:S and other Multiplayer shooters I keep thinking how shallow they are and i miss WOW and how complex the pvp was in it.

Also side-note, hasn't anyone seen the 'play WoW with xbox360 controller on your PC?'

For the people talking about the skills and whatnot, simply make it a keyboard game, I wouldn't mind playing it on a keyboard, however anyone who has played WoW and was a hardcore raider(I stopped amidst Burning Crusade so my knowledge is limited mostly to the expansionless WoW) meaning they'd spend something around 5 hours a day at least 5 days a week simply raiding, anyone who was at that level will tell you that WoW is very mod dependant, the UI's and other addons to the game become things you NEED, and without the ongoing flow of the mods the game simply dumbs down, so if WoW on the 360 had the ability to be used with all the mods the PC WoW has, then yes I would get it for my 360,but without the mods it's not the same.

The 360 could swing the game ,but its unlikely that that old of a game would hold up on a current console without a revamp. It may be fun ,but is butt ugly compared to everything else coming out. Also with $50 a year for xbox live, games that try to recharge tank. I also think you guys are over imagining how much space the game actually takes up. It is possible ,but way too late in the games life to do now. The original xbox would of had a better chance.

I don't think it would work on PC. If people wanted to play it they would have already gotten it for PC since the controls are better and it works better on PC with dedicated servers and ease of talking with people in Vent like the other poster said. Also, I don't think Blizzard would improve the graphics because the point of the graphics being not as great as they can be is because they want as many people to be able to play it and I don't think Blizzard would want to put in the effort to improve the graphics just for a port that is most likely to fail.

HEY! you're right. Why the heck should we pay more?! 50$ is enough. Maybe that's why the MMO thing isn't gonna catch on. Now, if there was no fee then yes I'd bite.

World of Warcraft might work if you could cue skills and spells like in the neverwinter nights games. I only played WOW for a month though, so maybe you can somehow cue in the current version.

I mean I haven't heard of any MMORPGs for the 360 yet, and I think this would be a great start.

Your thoughts?

jwgamer119

Try Final Fantasy XI and Phantasy Star Universe. Not to mention Age of Conan which is coming out.
