Because some people are experiencing difficulty removing the Play & Charge Kit from the controller, I'm providing my technique for removal. Using a flat-head screwdriver, gently slide it under either side of the charger's base and then push upwards--repeat for other side. The charger should loosen and disconnect.

I do that because I can't get a grip on the charger. And, I'm not going to pull on the Play & Charge Kit's cord.

you dont even need to pull on the cord, it disconnects quite easily if you pull it straight out away from the controller. obviously if you try to pull it and somehow angle it wierd its not going to come out, unless you wanna ruin the connector.

All I do is put my finger nails in between the charger and controller and just wiggle it up.  Not very hard at all.

Well I just got one and I cannot get it out at all.

I have pulled straight out with all my strength...tonight I think the cord may tear off but I don't care...I wanted a wireless controller. I do NOT want a permanent cord.

Nice product.

Trust me, mine does not just disconnect with a pull. It is LOCKED.

It was a precent so I am going to rip it out tonight and go back to batteries.

why would I assume it would work?

Snuh.

Same problem here, the first time it was totally glued to the controller and using too much strength would just break the plastic plug. I had to use a bread knife to pry it out.

But after several times, it becomes much easier to get the plug out.

Note that there are several types of charge kits, which probably explains why some people have problems and some others don't.

I can't believe I laughed for a solid minute after reading FUBAR24's joke.... lol. My bud does the same thing every 5 minutes - and it's surprising how often it actually makes sense.

By the way, do you have to leave your 360 on to charge ?

I didn't know why the controller was dead after being on the cord (usb) for a day.

Sigh.

Thanks.

Ever thought that attacking it with a screwdriver and pliers might be the reason it doesn't charge?

When I first used the play & charge it was stiff to clip on, but after a couple of uses it plugs in and pulls off easily.

I use my controller til the batteries run flat, then use the charge kit while playing. If the light hasn't gone green when I turn off I leave it plugged in. the console continues to charge it until full, then turns off. The rechargable battery will eventually wear out, so you may need to get a new one - definitely much cheaper than using regular batteries, and more convenient than rechargable ones.

wow unlock it with a screwdriver?? Ive never touched my controller with any tool other than my fingers:?

I think its a great purchase and prefer it over the normal battery pack. someone said theres more than one play and charge kit model? did you mean 3rd party brands?
