Halo1 sold about 5 million copies
Halo2 sold 8 million copies

it will probably sell 10-12 million i am sure almost 1 in every 3 consoles if not more will have a copy of it on launch

Let's see ...there are about 10-11 millions 360's sold. But the numbers will get higher, so..i really don't know. At least more than 5mil.

Considering about a 4th of Xbox owners (24 million people) bought Halo 2. It can be assumed that such a fraction will be similar on Halo 3. ie: 10 - 15 million Assuming the Xbox 360 has double the success of its predecessor.

I'm pretty sure when Bungie did an interview about how they messed up with Halo 2, they said they've sold like 6.2 Million copies. (Not 8 million) And I'm not sure Microsoft has sold 15-20 Million Xbox 360's. So even if every single person who owned a 360 bought on, as of right now they could sell about 9-10 Million. So my guess is about 65-70% of however many Xbox 360's are sold when Halo 3 comes out... .65(X) = Halo 3 Sales. X = Xbox 360's Sold* as of when Halo 3 is released.

Considering people, like me, who didn't like the other 2 Halo's are still going to try and get it at the midnight release, I think the game will sell as many copies as it releases. I don't know a single person who owns a 360 that isn't getting Halo 3.

Agree, and this should also boost the sales of Xbox 360. I hope there's atleast 15 million Xbox 360 sold by then, they got a lil over 10 million right now, it wouldn't surprise me if the time from now to release of Halo 3 increase by 5 million.
