My old Xbox's DVD drive can't read anything I put in, no matter what I do. It's a 2005 one, this is the second time it's screwed up, so I just bought a new one. Now, without me giving anymore money Microsoft, which they don't deserve, is there a way to get all my old files onto the new HDD just using plain ethernet cables/computers?

Help would be much appreciated.

You need the data transfer cable & cd that comes with the 120GB HDD.

It's important to note that not only the cable is needed but the cd as well, and you can only transfer your file & profile to a HDD that is bigger than your old one.

Sorry, I think I was a bit unclear. What I have is two separate consoles now, the 2005 with a 20GB HDD, and a brand new one with a 250GB HDD. I was wondering if it's possible to move the data over a LAN between them both, or something similar.

Cheers
