Perhaps it depends on how you utilize your time whilst playing Halo. If you play a lot of custom games with friends etc. then it would be a good investment. The maps are a great change of pace for those of us that play often.
I say that it is a must buy. Especially if you liked Sidewinder and Lockout and Ghost Town is also a lot of fun. This map pack overall is much, much better than the Heroic Map Pack.

If you think that waiting for 3 or 4 months is worth saving $10 or so, than by all means wait. I, on the other hand, am way to impatient for that.
If you can get over the fact that the "concept" of the maps were ripped right out of the first 2 Halo games (expect Ghost Town) then go ahead and buy it.:)
well the maps are good and if you're a fan of lockout from halo 2 you'll love blackout since it's exactly the same pretty much. avalache is HUGE and the vehicles and weapon spawns are really good i think for the map.. but i don't like ghost town. it's small and i think it's boring. but what it all really comes down to is bungie trying to squeeze every little cent out of us before GTAIV. when that comes out many of the "hits" will be forgotten about for quite awhile. if GTAIV is as good as i hope it is i don't think i'll ever take it out of my tray for quite awhile. AAAAND with XBOX live and PSN fueling GTAIV's multiplayer and all the potentially great and vast amount of downloadable game add-ons that could be easily made blockbuster and a half we will soon be immersed in
Yes, the new maps are great and way better than the Heroic Pack. Plus purchasing the Legendary Pack gets you 4 months free of Bungie Pro if your into the whole sharing video and screenshot scene.
