Halo 3 is a great game. The single player is epic, and the multiplayer is near-endless fun. Bungie constantly tweaks and updates the multiplayer playlists, so there's usually something new to keep you entertained.
It's great! The only problem is people were expecting way too much from it. Another reason is that CoD4 is a little better so some people will just say the Halo 3 sucks.
halo 3s story is weak, short and no real replay value. the online is fun for a min till you get tired of non stop brits telling you how much America sucks and dumb ass kids making retarded noises that are only funny to them. but there are new maps that come out ever 6 months or so....but you have to pay for them
Halo 3 was and is an amazing game. CoD4 was good and theres no argument the online multiplayer was slightly better but crank the difficulty up to legendary on Halo 3 (add a few skulls if your a sadist) no fps can touch the awesome ai that makes the campaign mode so cool, especially with a mate.
P.S. if your looking for a mind blowing story from an fps you probably won't find it here. Shooters are supposed to be fun and this doesn't disappoint.
Halo 3 sucks, the jumping feels like your floating and the graphics arent that great. CoD4 is way better than Halo 3 ever be. And on top of all that, Halo 3 broke my 360.

the online system is the best in the moment, the storyline is exciting for thoes who played the previous games and halo is simply HALO! it´s true that the graphics could be better but they still r great and the ways u can play this game r so many that you won´t get tired of this..about the online people..just turn off their mic´s sound xD one of the best games ever!!!
You will enjoy the single player no doubt. The multiplayer is a different story, if you are good (read: AMAZING) you stand a chance of keeping your temper while playing. Online there are so many elite kids that it is near impossible to have fun. good luck
halo is outdated, plain and simple. it lacks a sprint feature, which in my opinion should be mandatory in games these days. since it has no sprint feature the gameplay in multiplayer is ridiculously slow. also, more and more games are progressing to use a cover system, which again in my opinion should become mandatory in games these days. the graphics are merely ok to todays standards, and overall it used to be a great game, but now i see it as a generic ok fps with balanced weapons and vehicles and a good ranking system.
after playing other games such as rainbow six vegas 2, unreal tournament 3, quake wars, and brothers in arms i just see halo 3 as a step down from them. i would give it an 8/10 for today's standards and a 9/10 for when it first came out.
it's okay...the whole "halo" concept got old about halfway through Halo 2's Xbox LIVE era. Halo 3's gameplay really didn't change at all. Plus, there are too many "mlg losers" as I like to call them (guys who take the game too seriously), it really ruins the LIVE experience for me.
But with that being said, there are plenty of cool options to do with the gametypes to play with friends, and the forge/theater mode is always fun.
This game is wonderful and you will enjoy every minute of it. The same goes for COD 4, b/c in reality both of these games are good and believe me it doesn't matter if you play Halo or COD4, you will get tired of it. The problem is people get tired of games and with Halo, people got tired of it and started playing COD 4 and thier last memory of Halo is "Man that game is boring" when i know Hardcore Cod fans (I do play both) that come back to play Halo and thier like "Man this game is good" So b/f you listen to anyone saying one game is good one game is bad, why don't you rent both and see where you fall in the FPS category. Because each game has it strenghts and weaknesses
This game is good. However, multiplayer is the golden aspect of the game as compared to the singleplayer. I've played every Halo game and 2 is my favorite. You will likely enjoy this game though.

Yeah, Halo 2 feels just so much more polished for multiplayer to me. The online is horribly anorexic compared to what it once was, it's now that disco party that everyone left at 2:00 in the morning... it's 2:30 now. I'm getting my 360 on Live soon so maye we could do the GT thing if you have live too... I had the original Xbox wireless connector but that does not work with the current encryption on my router. I have to drop $90 on the 360 one...
