Gears of war!

I'm thinking of Gettin the sequel to the 1st one but the thing is I never played the 1st one so was the 1st good and if getting the sequal going to be worth it?

Yeah, Buy them both. You'll Still have loads of time to finish GoW on insane before GoW2 comes out.

If you have never played it i suggest you get of your PC and go buy it because chancea are your going to love it.

Gow rent it dnt buy it its not worth buyin this late, the campaign is like 5 -6 hrs and the story does a bad job of telling what the big picture of Gears is. the multiplayer is full of cheaters and glitchers. And is nothin more then running straight at someone with an active reload shotgun then rollin and flippin around it has a horrible lobby system, you cannot play with ur friends in a party for ranked matches, and who ever host has a huge advantage over everyone else cuz they have the best connection.

Fortunately the sequel should fix and improve what is wrong with the multiplayer and will have a much better single player storyline.

rent Gow 1 play the single player just to get what little story you get from the game so ur ready for the sequel.

I agree with you, GOW 1 was definitely a flawed game, super overated, the story was just bad, the multiplayer got full of glitchers and haters, though playing player matches with people you knew was really fun, i still do it sometimes.

To the TC, if you really want the full GOW experience then wait for GOW2, dont listen to these kids that havent played ANY good games in their lives.

i say go get it. if u plan on getting number 2 and it is cheap to buy. it was short to play. i was kind of expecting it to be longer when i stoped playing and got back in to it. the only bad thing is that there arn't a lot of pejople that play; the last time i played it online.

I actually agreed with you. Don't blame him just because he didn't sugarcoat it. That was actually a really fair interpretation of the first Gears.

At this point if you get it, just blow through the Single Player to get prepared for Gears 2. The MP is really frustrating, and like he said it's nothing more than jumping/running in circles shooting random shotgun blasts hoping for kills.

gears of war is the best 3rd person shooter next generation game that has breath taking grafics. not to mention it has a great story, but a little short. for a while there i was playing it for 1 years straight. i didnt take it out of my xbox for 1 year. i do not reccomend puying gears of war 2 without the first one. because of the story and because of everything new in it, like the characters and weapons and emenys and stuff....buy the first one first. for the love of god!

I was in the same boat as you, I have never played a grand theft auto game, a halo game or many other famous great games out there.

Well, I was sitting on about $150 in credit at my local gamestop so I figured, all these reviews can't be wrong. So, I picked up Bioshock and GOW.

All I can say is... GET GEARS OF WAR. This game rocks, once you get the hang of hiding for cover and fighting from behind it, which you must or you'll die, you'll love it. I have no idea how far into the game I am, but I am in a stage that's very much like the movie pitch black, you must run through the level on foot staying "only in the light" if not these kryll creatures swoop down on you and rip you to pieces.

Get it, you won't be sorry.

lol you wanna convince this kid against a game, dont flame other people who respond to the topic, yes it was a flawed game but it was super fun in my opinion, i loved the simple multiplayer.. yes it had cheaters and glitchers but if you got good people, which wasnt hard you had a blast and a half
