Hardcore was challenging to boot. Now I must conquer Insane? I bought the game about a week ago and have been working on and off of getting this far since then. Man, I accept the challenge ahead, but will i succeed? Maybe, but I'm not looking too positively on the endeavor. Anyway, have any of you completed the Insane challenge?

Play online. You get loads better. I don't know, I breezed through the game on insane but I get my ass whooped online.
u serious? hardcore was easy i was done in about 8 hrs. with the game i completed the whole game on saturday. And now about to start on insane since hardcore was easy.
Imo the AI aren't any smarter in Insane, they are just completely cheap, they get you down in 1 melee attack and like 1 shot with a shotgun and your down...yeah it really enforces you to take cover but i don't see AI getting any smarter.
I preferred to beat the campaign on all difficulties alone... I beat it once in coop on casual just for the Dom achievements, but after that .. I was just done with that game completely
Insane shouldn't be too hard just as long as you take cover at all times, and a little good advice this time is to pull off more headshots this time on the locusts (they die faster if you give them a headshot).
i didn't consider harcore too difficult, although somewhat challenging in certain various parts. taking Raam on hardcore solo was pretty difficult however. after i defeated him on that level...the first thought that came to mind was, "oh god, i wish i had some help for the next level of difficulty." Â
If you realy need someone to help you on insane mode just go online and do the co-op with someone, insane mode is more manageable on co-op. If you ever want to play co-op just drop me a text message, tags in my sig i need the Dom achievemnets anyways.
I found hardcore quite easy. I beat it in about 7 hours. Insane is definitely more difficult, but nothing that you would want to throw you controller over. The only truly difficult part is General RAAM. I could not beat him myself, so I started a co-op game with my friend and it started off right at RAAM. We beat him first try.
If you completed the game on Hardcore, Insane won't be that hard... until you get to Raam. But on my second time around, I died less, was used to the controls, and knew some key strategies, so insane won't be that hard.
There's basically no learning curve when you start playing the game on Insane. Your bullets are less effective, or the enemies have more health, or something along those lines. The enemies don't seem to get any trickier or smarter, just stronger. With Casual you could play the whole game hardly taking cover, if you don't take a lot of cover in Insane, you're dead.

on hardcore not even hard i was done within 3 mintues In co-op insane we beat RAAM in under 40 seconds. Yeah that's also how I beat RAAM on insane, 2 Torque bows and 2 Rifles FTW . I dont think its even possible to beat RAAM single player on insane .
i only played on hardcore and insane for the gamerpoints:D is was really easy, but i got bored after a while, doing 3 times the same story,,, but it was really fun.
i beat insane all by myself except the last boss.. he the pain in the a** so i got my friend help me! it should be easy if u play online alot then it will be easy
After beating Gears on Hardcore, Insane wasn't all that impossible. Sure, some parts (fighting off locusts in Marcus' dads house or whereever the hell it was) were really tough but I got through the first 3 acts and most of Act 4 without too much difficulty. Well actually Act 1 was hard because I wasn't used to so much blindfiring and covering but you get my point. Anyone else beat it on Insane?
Ive done insane, i did the whole campaign co-op cbecause we both needed the achievemetns. it was a slight challenge, not too difficult though. the only probkem we realyt had was the exploding wretches. My advice is just, go co-op, cus on single player, you go down..you die, co-op you get infinate chances. makes it 100% easier.
i beat it solo on insain (i wish there was a seprate achievement for that!). but i had to cheese the raam. it takes 18 head shots just so you know, also you die basicly alot. to cheese him- you run up to the small blocks in the middle of the train first thing and hope he gets stuck. have a bow and a lancer, use your nades and torque bow to get the things away from him and blind shot with the lancer. also there is a glich where you can open both doors before you enter the last secne one of them will be left open so you can get more ammo if needed, but you not safe from those krill still.

I did it on my own, not that hard... The wretches are very annoying though, especially on the mining carts...
so far i think insane is easier than hardcore, if simply because i've spent so much more time with the game. as long as you know the mechanics of the game, and you know what to expect, you will be fine.
Heck, the first 2 acts on insane isn't much different than casual. Though once you get to acts 3 and 4, it gets wayy hard with enemies overwhelming you. Act 5 is really easy. Still, i would've expected harder on insane than this.
