Instead of the unedited version of Fallout 3 that was planned to be released, Bethesda has decided to release the edited version of Fallout 3 which was intially for Australia who banned the game a few months ago.

It's just the drug references right? They don't plan on taking away anything from the gameplay such as those brutal headshots or nuclear explosions.Strife88

I agree. With all the stage demos already shown it would be easy to change a few lines in the script to make the Australian government happy so it's safe to say nothing else is getting taken out. I'll still get it regardless of what goes down.Strife88

Too Human was a good game, if you expected it to be on Fallout 3's level then you hyped it too much to yourself.

Fallout 3 is going to be an awesome game, nothing short of them taking out guns completely could stop me from buying it.

I only read the first paragraph lol this sssoooo sucks! I'm canceling my pre-order and getting something else, probably. but if it's ONLY the drugs, I'll still be getting. because if there's no blood, screw that! lolorb_03_2006

ahh. great point. guess I wasn't thinking of it that way. but as long as it's not TOO toned down, I'll be getting it.

From what I understand, it seems that all they edited (that we know) was the drug references and renamed them. Honestly, that is not a big concern for me if that is all they did.

As it turns out, nobody has lived in Autralia in thousands of years...so this works out then. :P

they said their only changing the drug references from real drugs to fictional ones and i dont even remember the drugs in fallout 1 and 2 so i dont care, they could call em hibby-bebop and that wouldnt stop me from playin the game i-rock-socks

Not even the references, more the names of the narcotics, they didn't like the use of recognisable drugs (whether it be by referring to Heroin or Anadin) so they're just changing the names... odd that the Aussie's didn't have a problem with being able to dismember people with a shotgun, just the drug names.

LMAO even the guy that wrote the article doesn't seem to get it. If you read it, and ignore all his speculation, concentrating on just what the Bethesda guy said, you can see the ONLY difference is the names of the drugs. They could call the drugs "Pixie Dust" and "Rainbow Kitten Cuddly Fuzz" for all I care... wont change the gameplay.

If anyone lets this change their mind on buying the game, then IMO, they're crazy.
