That's a tough one. They are very different games IMO and I loved them both! I don't think I can honestly choose a favorite. :)

Mass Effect caught my attention a bit more. Altho DAO is still a good game, too bad about the disaster for a sequel. (IMO)

Well I've only played ME1 and DA1, and I never finished either of them. But I would say ME over DA, but then again, I prefer Sci-Fi settings over fantasy settings.

Dragon Age. Longer, more in-depth storylines and fantastically nostalgic gameplay.

I found Dragon Age 2 a bit lackluster... compared to the first one, don't get me wrong I still love the series, but if I had to choose, I would go with Mass Effect. Just feels more complete and solid IMO

I like Mass Effect way more. It's more of a sci-fi story (which I'm into) rather than a fantasy story

Hmm...

I'm playing the first Mass Effect right now, and I've played (and own) both of the Dragon Age games.

From my prespective, Dragon Age is the better game. Although I do agree that Dragon Age 2 was not quite as good as the first one.

Mass Effect seems to be really similar to Dragon Age but that is to be expected since Mass Effect came out first. :3

I still haven't had enough time to play the second Mass Effect.... If it's a good enough game then I will go ahead and continue onto the third one...

Now this I agree with.

Not so much with the Backgrounds but with the characters themselves.

I've got a lot of love for both of the series, but I would have to say Mass Effect is better. Mass Effect 2 was just such a good game, between the gameplay, voice acting, and graphic design, the game just kept delivering no matter how many times I played it. It also just had that ever so occasional encounter that reminded me of Mass Effect 1, which was equally thrilling compared to other releases at the time. However, seeing as Dragon Age a more of a sword-and-arrow fantasy RPG, while Mass Effect is a 3ps Sci-Fi RPG, there's not much comparability, besides the similarities in the importance of character relationship in both games, which are both very good. However, I don't like how they so accurately recycled the Mass Effect 2 conversation system into Dragon Age II, which I though was an overall good game, despite being heavily criticized. Other than that,

Although I'd say Mass Effect has the better universe, Dragon Age:Origins was the best game.

I really can't decide which is the better series.

Out of all the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games, Dragon Age: Origins would be my favorite. As an entire series, though, Mass Effect wins for me.

In my opinion, they're pretty uncomparible. Both had brilliant storylines, great voice-acting and plenty of extremely fun classes and powers.

Tough call, all 4 games are good and have their individual strengths. Mass Effect Series are my favorite though. I really like the Shepard trilogy idea.
