Alright this is kind of a long story so I'll give you the short version, basically I have a copy of Halo 2 for the xbox (used to have one for the computer but let's not worry about what happened to that because trust me it's gone and never coming back). Anyways I'm trying to get my 360 to work it, I know you need the emulator or whatever it's called to get it to work. So here's what I've done so far I've gone on the actual xbox website to figure out how to download the emulator and the website is useless because nothing is working! I've tried using a USB drive (my xbox doesn't recognize it) I tried configurin the USB drive but then that goes and fills up the whole drive (it's only 4 GB large I used to have a 32 GB one but I lost that), which means I can't put the update onto the drive to get my 360 to recognize it but I doubt that will work anyways.

Tried using a burned data DVD, the 360 had no clue what to do with it, the website said to copy the contents of the update folder onto the DVD, that's what I did, burned it, and the 360 has no idea what I'm putting into it (no error message just doesn't do anything, tried manually getting it to work the disc, and it refused again no error message). Finally I decided, "FORGET IT!" and tried to do it through xbox live but I couldn't make heads or tales of what was going on. I still think the USB driver is the best approach for me, but I have no idea what I'm doing now! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

I want my game to work!!!!/I'm very mad right now that I have to do this at all (again long story) PLEASE HELP PONIC!

ehhh, well... Halo 1 and 2 were the first playbacks that were put on the xbox 360 emulator. So, you should be able to just pop that bad boy in and it should run. The other updates for emulators expanded the emulator collection. BUT, all you need to do is sign into xbox live and your xbox should update automatically and you should be fine. Other than that, idk what to tell you and not sure what you're doing wrong.

FYI, I hope you're not planning on playing Halo 2 live becuase they discontinued xbox orginals live support.

I don't care about playing it on live I just want the game. Alright I tried just putting in Halo 2 and it said an emulator was needed (there are 2 accounts on my 360...mine which is a silver membership and my brothers which is a gold membership) Both did the same thing. Now I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong in particular, in that situation I turned on the 360, signed into the profile, put in Halo 2 and it said that a harddrive needed to be connected. So what happened? Did I do something wrong???? I tried it on my account and my brothers, both had the same result

ROFL... sorry bro... the emulator is on the hard drive. You can't play on xbox games w/o a hard drive.

Like just about everything else on Xbox Live, its probably a requirement to have a hard drive. Failure on MS's part for making consoles without them.

wait wait wait time out that means i need to have a hard drive already in the 360, that's just dumb!!!!! so it's a hardware thing? And I suppose it's save to assume I can't get an emulator anyways???? Despite the problems I said up above?

Yes, you need a hard drive and there's no way around it. The 20gb hard drives are pretty cheap so... go get one.

so buy a hard drive and it works, anything else I need to do once I get one? Like do I need to install anything? Or is it as simple as plug it in, put halo 2 in then play, no problems?

All Xbox classics had a hard drive, so the b/c emulator requires a hard drive. No hard drive, no Xbox game. There may be an installation or auto-partitioning required, but it won't be a big deal.

So I have it straight, should I buy a detachable hard drive (whether I do or not) then halo 2 will work? Or will I need to install something on it to get it to work?ponic3

You need one of those if you do not have one. Anything else will not work, due to the emulator being specially designed to only run on these.
