Best Video Game Story-Line!

What do you guys think has the best story-line in video games?

I think that It's Half-Life, It is so well toled and one of the greatest scifi stories ever toled. In my opinion.

I also liked Halo: Combat Evolved. The Flood was a really great twist.

What was your favorite story.

Someone explain to me why Half Life story is so great. I havent really played any so I don't know. Personally I Bill Cosby Shoot Out for the 360 has the best story.

and why oh why are we forgetting the resident evil series? sure it gets a little slow here and there (they could replace a lot of babling with cool ass action sequence cutscenes instead of just bore and sometimes banal talk) but at the center of every resident evil game there was always a really solid story line that grabbed your attention from begining to end and thats hard to pull off when you have like 14 different resident evil games, to stay consistent story wise and for that long is impresive.

on the xbox i have to say the otogi series story is pretty outstanding, nothing like cool stylish characters mixed in with some ancientjapanesse mythologyand what ancient japanesse game would be complete withoutsometruly grotesque allies and enemies to keep you saying what the? this game has it all cool characters cool cutscenes and the most humbling nonpretenticous storyline in any game i've ever seen.

Metal Gear Series has the best story ever told in a game.

I dont know if the MGS series will ever be surpassed story wise.

Then FF4, 6, 7 and 10.

now that thats out of the way, I would have to say the metal gear solid franchise.

For the 360 its easily Mass Effect, but for all consoles its god of war hands down. Theres no story that comes even close to god of war

Mass Effect and Beyond Good and Evil.

I have yet to play Planescape though

Best: Halflife, Bioshock and Mass effect.

Worst:Halo 2 & 3, Gears.
